TWITTER TO UPLIFT ITS CHARACTER LIMIT FROM 140 TO 10,000 FOR TWEETS

Multiple reports are coming from different sources that Twitter just like the Direct Messages is now going to remove that 140-character tweet limit to a hefty 10,000. Twitter is probably unique because of this limit as it forces the user to get straight to the point rather than cooking up stories. Twitter firstly wasn’t launched with that character limit, it was introduced later to fit into a single SMS (160 characters).

Twitter’s co-founder Jack Dorsey tweeted a screenshot of text explaining the intention behind increasing the character. However, he has said nothing about increasing the character limit so, it is still a rumor. Rumors also say that posts exceeding the 140-character limit will be collapsed so, you have tap the post to see more, just like Facebook’s “See More” feature.
